While
the most common source of PDF/Image files is a scanner,
almost any type of image may be converted to PDF, including
TIFFs, digital photographs and artwork graphics. When
conversions are performed by the experts at Document
Solutions, Inc., total fidelity to the original document
is assured and many other possibilities emerge.
Converting
to PDF makes it possible to distribute, view and print
heterogeneous content with identical results, worldwide.
Paper documents may be merged with electronic without
changing the work environment. Bookmarks and other features
may be added to make it easy to find subsections of
the document.
PDF/Image
files are moderate in size. With black-and-white documents,
typical file size is 40-90kb per page at 300 dpi and
30-60kb per page at 200 dpi. Advanced compression options
make even smaller file-sizes possible.
Color
image files, unless heavily compressed, color-depth
reduced and downsampled to low resolutions, tend to
be a LOT larger! If you want those color and halftone
images to look good in your PDF files without paying
a price in huge file-sizes, then check out DSI's MultiResolution
PDF conversion.
